Now they perform and viewers vote; Wednesday has a recap at 8 and finale at 9.

2) “Dancing With the Stars” opener, 8-10:31 p.m., ABC. It’s the 32nd edition – 30 on ABC, one only on Disney+ land now one simulcast on both. Julianne Hough joins Alfonso Ribeiro as host, with her brother Derek as a judge. One contestant is a teen star (Xochitl Gomez, 17, of “Doctor Strange”); another was one a half-century ago (Barry Williams, turning 69). There are reality types, plus winners of an Oscar (Mira Sorvino) and Grammy (Jason Mraz).

3) “The Swarm,” 9 p.m., CW. In a slow and steady way, this eight-part international mini-series builds its underwater crisis, sometimes focusing on two likable young researchers. In the first hour, Leon’s girlfriend was killed by a whale attack; in the second, Charlie’s friend’s ship sank. She’s about to learn about her friend, as problems build. “Swarm” has subtly skilled actors, but requires great patience.

4) “Becoming Frida Kahlo,” 9 p.m., PBS. As the second part of this three-week documentary begins, the marriage seems like a mismatch. Diego Rivera is twice Kahlo’s age, triple her weight, thoroughly more famous. Now, however, he runs into troubles, as art and politics entwine; she begins to build her reputation as a skilled artist. It’s a strong story, told with rich detail.

5) ALSO: “The Voice,” which opened its season Monday, settles into its second night. It’s 8-9 p.m. today, then 8-10 p.m. on other Tuesdays. ABC follows “Dancing With the Stars” at 10:31 p.m. with a “Family Feud” that had people from “Dancing” and “Grand Crew.” And Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” is a week from its finale; last week, we learned that Loretta (Meryl Streep) was the birth mother of the victim’s adopted brother, who’s a suspect.
