1) “Abbott Elementary,” 9 p.m., ABC. After two weeks of reruns, this dandy comedy returns to new episodes. Tonight, Jacob (shown here) is startled to learn that his colleagues don’t even read his emails. In fact, they have someone else respond.

2) “Animal Control,” 9 p.m., Fox. It’s Ken Jeong night on Fox. He has his regular gig as a judge on “Masked Singer” (tonight with a “Transformers” theme), then guests as a “dog whisperer” on “Animal Control.” That puts him with his old “Community” colleague Joel McHale, who plays Frank – tonight facing competition as union rep.

3) Film power, Turner Classic Movies. Over six Thursdays, “The Power of Film” (also streaming on Max) talked about the top movies ever. Now the series reruns from 3:30 to 8 p.m. ET, tentatively followed by one of the most powerful movies of all – “The Godfather” (1972). That starts a Marlon Brando marathon, with “The Freshman” (1990) at 11:15 and “Last Tango in Paris” (1972) at 1:15.

4) “Sight Unseen,” 9 p.m., CW. Last week’s opener was solid, with one exception: It had Tess suddenly quit the police force, without explaining that she was going blind. Now that’s rectified, in an excellent hour that reruns at 9 p.m. Friday and Monday. Aided by a guide who uses her bodycam, Tess probes a revived hit-and-run case.

5) “Chucky” return, 10 p.m., Syfy and USA. Last week, this slot had the season-finale of the delightful “Resident Alien”; now it drifts downward. Yes, “Chucky” has some clever momnts. Jennifer Tilly, long the voice of the evil Tiffany, now plays herself inhabited by Tiff and in jail for murder. Chucky (Tiff’s lover) is manipulating the president’s son. It’s interesting … but way too gory/gross for many viewers.
