Best-bets for July 9: Double-Feud leads game surge

1) “Family Feud: Decades of Laughs,” 8 p.m., ABC. It’s been five decades, almost. “Feud” did daytime for eight years on ABC and five on CBS, was gone for a while, then did syndication and prime time. 1) “Family Feud: Decades of Laughs,” 8 p.m., ABC. It’s been five decades, almost. “Feud” did daytime for eight years on ABC and five on CBS, was gone for a while, then did syndication and prime time. From Richard Dawson to Steve Harvey (shown here), it’s had sharp hosts and a clever concept. This hour offers some of its funnier moments.

2) “Celebrity Family Feud” season-opener, 9 p.m., ABC. As soon as that special ends, it’s time for a new “Feud” season to begin. This is the 11th with the “Celebrity” title; the opener has Harvey hosting and Ne-Yo facing Megan Thee Stallion; also, football stars face Olympians. That’s followed by a rerun that includes more football stars.

3) More reality. Roy Wood Jr., a sharp force on “The Daily Show” and beyond, is Jimmy Fallon’s “Password” opponent. That’s at 10 p.m. on NBC; “America’s Got Talent” is from 8-10, colliding with Fox’s “Beat Shazam” and “The Quiz With Balls.”

4) Scripted shows. There are reruns of “The Conners” (8-10 p.m.,, CW) and of the FBI shows (8-11 p.m., CBS), And there are movies based on true stories: At 9 p.m., Showtime has “Rocketman” (2019), the Elton John story, and Starz has “She Said,” the Harvey Weinstein story, At 6:35, Syfy has “The Perfect Storm” (2000), which is neither “sy” nor “fy.”

5) “Voces,” season-opener, 10 p.m., PBS. When his class was heading tot Europe, Luis Cortes Romero became the top fundraisier … then was told he couldn’t get a passport. That’s when he learned he’s undocumented. Here’s an involving portrait of Romero, a lawyer who successfully argued a DACA (“dreamers”) case before the Supreme Court.
