Best-bets for Oct. 12: a Grande night for fun or fright

1) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Two generations of singers combine: Ariana Grande (shown here), 31, hosts; Stevie Nicks, 76, is music guest. 2) “Haunted Wedding.” 8-10 p.m., Hallmark. Even Hallmark is in Halloween mode: A bride insists the wedding be in a mansion that’s rumored to be haunted. The rumors turn out to be true … and a ghost thinks the groom is her long-ago fiance.

3) More movies. Halloween films range from gentle – “Monsters University” (2013) at 7:15 p.m. on Freeform, “Goosebumps” (2018) at 8 on Disney – to harsh, with “Carrie”(2013) at 7:45 on AMC. Other films include Francis Coppola’s passionate “The Outsiders,” at 7 on BBC America and the lushly crafted “Cruella,” at 8 on FX.

4) “Tracker,” 8 p.m., CBS. On the eve of the second-season opener, here’s the finale for the first season. Searching for two amateur storm-chasers, Colter finds the dark side of a resort town.

5) Football. The nation’s second- and third-ranked teams collide, when Ohio State visits Oregon, at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock. ABC has two big games – top-ranked Texas at Oklahoma (No. 18) at 3:30, then Mississippi (No. 9) at Louisiana State (No. 13) at 7:30.
