1) “Elsbeth,” 10 p.m., CBS. Airing on Halloween eve, this show amps up its oddness. A neighborhood trick-or-treat night has gone (very) wrong. Elsbeth is on the case — but wants to wear costumes all week; she’s into “My Fair Lady,” ranging from ragged-flower-girl to (shown here) belle-of-the-ball. It’s a fairly good hour, with Annaleigh Ashford as guest star.
2) “Ghosts,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. This show’s best episodes have been keyed to Halloween or Christmas. Now there’s a mummy, plus Nigel trying a seance to retrieve Chris from the afterlife … unaware that Chris didn’t ascend, but merely fled. Today also has light, Halloween-type films on FX and Freeform.
3) “Witcher” new season, Netflix. For a darker Halloween eve, you could binge this. The fourth season arrives today, with Liam Hemsworth taking over as Geralt. That’s a day after Netflix added the Colin Farrell movie “Ballad of a Small Player” and Apple TV+ started “Down Cemetery Road,” an eight-parter with Emma Thompson and Ruth Wilson.
4) “Georgie & Mandie’s First Marriage,” 8 p.m., CBS. Georgie’s mom had lots of angst when he was dating … and more, now that her daughter Missy is boy-crazy. Now it’s the other way around; the widow is going on a date and Georgie is not happy. Also, Mandy’s parents try to draw up wills.
5) “9-1-1,” 8 p.m., ABC. Athena is being hit further by the realities of being widowed. That’s followed by “9-1-1: Nashville” (rescues at a water park and a sorority house) and “Grey’s Anatomy” (a difficult breast-reconstruction).
