1) “Holiday Spectacular,” 8-10 p.m. today, ABC. Sprawling across the Disney parks, this has bright colors and cheery music. Derek Hough hosts and performs; also performing are Nicole Scherzinger (shown here), Bebe Rexha, Aloe Blacc, Trisha Yearwood, Gwen Stefani, Coco Jones and Benji and Joel Madden. This also airs at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday on Freeform.
2) “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” 8-10 p.m. Wednesday, NBC. Now NBC counters with its own spectacle, complete with the Rockettes and the lighting of the Christmas tree. Reba McEntire hosts and performs. Also performing are Stefani, Brad Paisley, Carly Pearce, Michael Buble, Halle Bailey, Marc Anthony, New Edition and Kristin Chenowith.
3) “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” 8 p.m. Thursday, NBC. Back-to-back are a great cartoon (“Grinch”) at 8 and a good one (“Frosty the Snowman”) at 8:30. The next night, it’s “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” at 8. All will be back on NBC and beyond: Freeform has “Frosty” and “Rudolph” at 8:35 and 9:10 p.m. Saturday, then at 2:55 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
4) All week, CBS. No, the week won’t be non-stop Christmas specials. CBS has 16 new episodes of its regular shows. That starts with “DMV” at 8 p.m. today (a half-hour earlier than usual); Colette tries to redirect the holiday plans. It continues through “Boston Blue,” at 10 p.m. Friday: Lena’s obsession with a case puts Danny in an unfamiliar position.
5) And all week, Fox. Here’s another stretch of non-holiday episodes, through Thursday. On Tuesday, a messy (but well-made) “Murder In a Small Town” hour is followed by TMZ’s look at the year’s “most outrageous moments.” Wednesday has the semi-finals of “The Floor” and “99 to Beat.” Thursday has “Hell’s Kitchen” and (see No. 8) a new baking show.
6) “25 Days of Christmas,” starting today, Freeform. It’s the 30th year for this event, stuffed with movies and cartoons. Today has all three “Santa Clause” films, at 11:30 a.m. (1994), 1:35 p.m. (2002) and 4 p.m. (2006). It follows with the first “Home Alone” films at 6 (1990) and 8:25 (1992). They’ll repeat often, along with Jim Carrey’s “Grinch” and “Christmas Carol.”
7) Country Christmas, 9 p.m. today, ABC; 10 p.m. Wednesday, NBC. ABC has the annual “CMA Christmas,” with music by Lauren Daigle and Jordan Davis (the hosts), plus Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, Bebe Winans, Gwen Stefani, Lady A and Little Big Town. NBC has Trisha Yearwood host in Nashville, with Trace Adkins, NE-YO, Lauren Alaina and more.
8) “The Great Christmas Lights Fight,” 9-11 p.m. Thursday, ABC. Over the next three Thursdays, we’ll see six hours of epic-sized home displays. Each hour has four, with a judge (Carter Oosterhouse or Taniya Nayak) picking a winner. This year, that collides with the debut of Fox’s “Next Level Baker,” which starts at 9 p.m. Thursday with a winter/holiday theme.
9) Big Ten football championship game, 8 p.m. ET Saturday, Fox. This wraps up a weekend with 10 conference championships. That same day, ABC has the Big 12 at noon, SEC at 4 p.m. and Atlantic Coast Conference at 8; others are noon on ESPN and 2 p.m. on ESPN2. Friday has games at 7 p.m. on ESPN and CBS Sports Network, 8 on ABC and Fox.
10) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m. Saturday, NBC. Melissa McCarthy has hosted five times — each time getting an Emmy nomination for best guest actress. She won in 2017, but hasn’t returned, except for an uncredited bit last year. Now she’s back and hosting, with Dijon as the music guest. At 8 p.m. that night, CBS reruns its amiable cartoon, “Reindeer in Here.”
