Let’s say you feel there just aren’t enough ways to see the Kardashians.
Now you can quit worrying. Starting Feb. 17, all of the shows — that’s a lot — will be on Hulu and Disney+.
That’s the result of a deal that includes streaming rights to all 20 seasons of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” (shown here with Khloe, Kendall and Kylie), plus its spin-offs and specials.
The show began in 2007 on E, often having two seasons in a year. Before jumping in 2022 to Hulu (where it’s quickly had seven seasons as “The Kardashians”), it had lots of spin-offs. The deal involves streaming rights to such series as “Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami” and “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,” plus such specials as “Kardashians on Vacation.”
All of those past ones were snuggled into the corporate world that includes Universal, NBC and Peacock. Then came the change, spinning off most of the cable channels (Bravo excluded) into a separate entity that includes E, USA, Syfy, Oxygen, MS Now (formerly MSNBC) and Golf.
The new entity was named Versant. (The dictionary says a “versant” is the slope of a mountain or a region; this may or not reflect the downward slope of cable-TV ratings.)
Versant officially started on Monday (Jan. 5); the Hulu deal came promptly.
