1) Basketball, 8:30 p.m. ET, ABC, with pre-game at 8. It’s opening day of the pro playoffs. Amazon Prime — which aired the “play-in” portion this week — has games at 1, 3:30 and 6. Then ABC has Kevin Durant’s Rockets (shown here) and LeBron James’ Lakers, which finished 5th and 4th in the 15-team Western Conference. On Sunday, games will be on ABC in the afternoon, NBC at night.
2) Nature-film marathon, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., BBC America, Four days before Earth Day, here’s a sampling of splendid series, narrated by David Attenborough, now 99. It has two episodes of his epic “Planet Earth” and one apiece from eight others. That starts with South America at 6 a.m., ends with Africa at 3:30, with more stops on land and sea.
3) “Tracker,” 8 p.m., CBS. This episode, a good one, was the fourth to have Sofia Pernas as Billie, once Colter’s lover and now his competitor. Colter (Justin Hartley, Pernas’ husband in real life) is injured, framed and unable to contact his colleagues; he reluctantly turns to Billie. It’s a rerun, as is “CIA” (an agent arrested in Hong Kong) at 9.
4) “Super Mario Brothers Movie” (2023), 7 and 9 p.m., E. With the brothers’ “Galaxy” film drawing big crowds, E shows the previous one. Chris Pratt, who voices Mario, also stars in the fun “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, at 2:30, 5 and 8 p.m. on FX.
5) ALSO: The basketball playoffs collide with hockey playoffs (2, 5 and 8 p.m. ET on ESPN), plus NASCAR (6 p.m., CW) and baseball (7:15, Fox). And at 8 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies has “Same Time Next Year” (1978), a clever comedy-drama with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn.
