Best-bets for April 21: reality openers; taut “Trent”

1) “Bear Grylls is Running Wild” opener, 9 p.m., Tuesday. Two 50-ish chaps — Grylls, 51, and Matthew McConaughey, 56 and far from his Texas roots — tackle an imposing stretch of Norway (shown here). They descend a steep, 800-foot granite cliff; eat reindeer testicles and swim in 35-degree water. Also, they chat about Woody Harrelson, “a perpetual 8-year-old.” It’s all fairly entertaining. 2) “Farmer Wants a Wife” season-opener, 8 p.m., Fox. “The dating pool in Homer is pretty small,” Braden Pridemore says here. That’s an Illinois town with 150 students in the school district. So now he meets nine women, including one who calls herself a two-time Miss Texas. (It’s actually Miss Texas Volunteer.) Two other guys have similar adventures.

3) “Will Trent,” 8 p.m., ABC. Adelaide — the daughter of a serial killer — has taken her campaign against Will to an extreme. She kidnapped his uncle and orchestrated the death of Amanda, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation chief who rescued Will as a baby and again as a troubled teen. Now he’s unraveling as the search intensifies.

4) “NCIS: Origins,” 9 p.m., CBS. This will wrap its season in two weeks (a week sooner than the other “NCIS” shows). For now, it complicates Gibbs’ life. He’s growing closer to Lala on a case, his long-distance relationship with Diane is strained … and his father suddenly shows up.

5) ALSO: At 5:30 and 8 p.m., FX has the first two “Guardians of the Galaxy” films. At 7:15, HBO has “Game Night” (2018), a sneaky-clever tale with Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. And at 9. PBS reruns the second chapter of the superb “American Revolution”; Washington takes command.
