Best-bets for April 27: The 8 p.m. hour is packed

1) “The 1% Club,” 8 p.m., Fox. Joel McHale’s comedy (“Animal Control)” finished its season last week, but he’s still busy hosting TV’s best game show. Amid fascinating questions, McHale (shown here) toys with contestants. Today, they include one person who’s been on Jerry Springer’s show and another who was a zombie on “The Walking Dead.” Read more…

Amid fascinating questions, McHale (shown here) toys with contestants. Today, they include one person who’s been on Jerry Springer’s show and another who was a zombie on “The Walking Dead.”

2) “American Idol,” 8-10 p.m., ABC. With “The Voice” ending early, “Idol” has our attention. Two weeks from its finale, Nikki Glaser is a guest judge. Taylor Swift songs will be performed by Daniel Stallworth, Braden Rumfelt, Hannah Harper, Chris Tungseth, Keyla Richardson, Jordan McCollough and Brooks; the field will be trimmed from seven to five.

3) “Sullivan’s Crossing,” 8 p.m, CW. Yes, this is a sweet resort area, filled with amiable Canadians Still, there are troubles: One woman loses her job, another has lost her relationship. And Liam is still hanging around, not quite legally divorced from Maggie. It’s an interesting blend.

4) “The Neighborhood” and “DMV,” 8 and 8:30 p.m., CBS Both comedies are two weeks away from their final episodes. “Neighborhood” (retiring after eight seasons) has Marilu Henner’s third episode as Dave’s mother; her visit has him re-thinking his future. “DMV” (canceled after one) has Colette as the driving examiner for Ceci’s grandmother.

5) MORE: The rerun of Ken Burns’ superb “American Revolution” continues from 9-11 p.m. today and Tuesday; it concludes a week later. Also at 9, BBC America has “The Princess Bride,” a delightful Rob Reiner film from 1987.
