1) Steve McQueen marathon, Turner Classic Movies. McQueen was a great, raw talent who worked for top directors. Today has three John Sturges films — “Never So Few,” 6 a.m., ET; “The Magnificent Seven,” 12:45 p.m.; “The Great Escape,” 3 p.m. Norman Jewison’s “The Thomas Crown Affair is at 6, with (oddly) the low-budget “The Blob” (its poster is shown here) at 8.
2) “Harlan Coben’s Final Twist,” 8 p.m., CBS. This is the hour that got the series off to a strong start. It involves the murder of a small-town couple named Billy and Billie Jean … and it includes an incredibly gullible accomplice. Alongside two “48 Hours” episodes, this provides a true-crime night; new “Twist” episodes start on Oct. 5.
3) “The Rookie,” 8-11 p.m., ABC. The ninth season start until January, but here are the final three episodes of the eighth. First, Nolan must protect someone he doesn’t trust. Then Grey and Garza have misgivings about Monica. At 10 p.m,, there’s a high-stakes search for a notorious criminal.
4) Movies. It’s a good comedy night. There are two funny Dan Aykroyd films — “The Blues Brothers” (with John Belushi) at 8 on BBC America, “Trading Places” (with Eddie Murphy) at 8:30 on IFC. Also, the three “Hangover” films are at 7, 9:30 and 11:45 on Comedy Central. And drama? Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” films are at 4:45 and 8 p.m. on TBS.
5) ALSO: At noon ET, ESPN and the NFL Network air pro football’s Hall of Fame ceremony; inductees are Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri. And from 8-10 p.m., “American Ninja Warrior” reruns its central-region finals; the national finals start Monday.
