We don’t have to wait until October to be frightened

Apparently, we don’t have to wait until next month to get really, terribly, awfully frightened.
October is when Freeform has its “31 Days of Halloween” (with fairly gentle tales) and others — AMC, Syfy, etc. — have variations. But Paramount+ now helpfully tells us about the horror films it already has.
That includes all three “A Quiet Place” films, all four “Pet Semetary,” all seven “Paranormal Activity: and all eight “Scream” (depicted here). Horror movies seem to have lots of sequels. Read more…

Apparently, we don’t have to wait until next month to get really, terribly, awfully frightened.
October is when Freeform has its “31 Days of Halloween” (with fairly gentle tales) and others — AMC, Syfy, etc. — have variations. But Paramount+ now helpfully tells us about the horror films it already has.

It also has eight “Friday the 13th” films, despite the fact that the prequel series (“Crystal Lake”) will be on Peacock, starting Oct. 15.
On the comedy side, Paramount+ has all six “Scary Movie” movies, including an expanded version of the one this summer. It has the two “Addams Family” films and on Oct. 1 adds the animated “Hotel Transylvania” film.
By then, of course, all the other channels will be jumping in. We may be jaded … or may have lost all will to watch TV.
