CW has Dolly and Dorothy for the holidays

The Christmas TV season will start a day earlier this year.
It will begin on Thanksgiving eve, thanks to Dorothy and Mickey and such.
ABC had already announced that it will air “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” — a long-ignored, half-hour gem — at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25. Now CW has picked that same time for “The Wizard of Oz” (shown here).
The mini-network will also air “Oz” on Dec. 20, as part of a season that includes three Dolly Parton shows, a few new specials and some semi-ancient cartoons. That includes:
— “The Wizard of Oz” (1939), 8 p.m., Nov. 25 and Dec. 20. It also airs on TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies.
— Parton shows. “Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love” has an early start, 8 p.m., Nov. 22. “Coat of Many Colors” is 8 p.m., Dec. 3 and 14. Also, “Dolly Parton: Here I Am,” a documentary with music, is 8 p.m., Dec. 2.
— New specials: “World’s Funniest Moments: Christmas,” 9 p.m., Dec. 16; “Masters of Illusion Christmas Magic,” 8 p.m., Dec. 17; Hollywood Christmas Parade,” 8-10 p.m. Dec. 18, also Dec. 24.
— Animation reruns: “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer,” 8 p.m., Nov. 27 and Dec. 16; “A Flintstones Christmas,” 9 p.m. Nov. 27; “A Flintstones Christmas Carol,” 8-9:30 p.m., Dec. 4. Also, a “Smurfs” holiday is 9:30 p.m., Dec. 4 and “Yogi’s First Christmas” is 8-10 p.m. Dec. 10.
— Others (primarily reruns): “A Very Brady Christmas” (with some new footage added), 7:30-10 p.m., Dec. 6; “Best Christmas Movies Ever,” 8 p.m., Dec. 9 and 24; highlights of past Tabernacle Choir concerts (with Kristen Chenoweth, Megan Hilty and Michael Maliakel), 9-10 p.m., Dec. 17; “The Christmas Caroler Challenge,” 8-10 p.m., Dec. 19.
