1) “St. Denis Medical” season-opener, 8 p.m., NBC. It was 36 years ago that David Alan Grier and Damon Wayans linked in the Emmy-winning “In Living Color.” Now they’ve re-united for this episode, a funny one: Ron (Grier, 70) is recovering from heart surgery; his temporary replacement (Wayans, 66, shown here) spews slogans and pep talks.
2) “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” 8:30, NBC. Last season ended with a glimmer of hope: Reggie — his football career ended by a gambling scandal — got a few Hall of Fame votes. Now he tries to push forward … unaware that his son is dating his enemy’s daughter. This leaps between clever bits and ones that are just overwrought.
3) “FBI,” 8 p.m., CBS. It’s hard these days, apparently, to contain prisoners. On Friday, a prison break will sprawl across CBS’ “Sheriff Country” and “Fire Country.” First, this show has a transfer van attacked, letting eight female prisoners escape.
4) “Harlan Coben’s Final Twist,” 10 p.m., CBS. In Nashville, a young couple was found in a crashed car, shot to death. Digging through phone records and some blurry security footage, detectives found a secret that someone was willing to kill for.
5) ALSO: With the comedies returning, NBC’s “Line of Fire” has the week off and a two-hour “Voice” moves to 9 p.m., a crowded hour. Also at 9: CBS’ “CIA,” with a dangerous AI model stolen … CW’s “Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent,” probing the death of a well-liked couple … and on PBS, the amiable Pati Jinich visits Colorado and New Mexico.
