1) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Once confined to the internet, Druski (shown here) has expanded. The one-named comedian hosted the BET Awards in June and now has his first time hosting “SNL”; it’s the fifth for the Strokes as music guest. Druski, 32, started with YouTube comedy, then was in music videos and started a record label with online auditions.
2) Football, 7:30 p.m. ET. You might bounce between two channels tonight, with the two highest-ranked college teams having key road games. Top-ranked Miami visits Notre Dame (No. 11) on NBC; second-ranked Georgia is at Missouri (No. 10) on ABC.
3) More football. There are more match-ups of high-ranked teams. At noon, Utah (No. 3) hosts Brigham Young (No. 9) on ABC; Texas (No. 7) visits Missouri (No. 16) on ESPN. And at 3:30, it’s Alabama (No. 5) at Louisiana State (No. 14) on ABC; Oregon (No. 23) at Ohio State (No. 12) on CBS.
4) “A Hard Day’s Night” (1964), 10 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies. For years, rock ‘n roll movies fell into two categories — stupid and stupider. Then the Beatles made a black-and-white movie with no plot, a great director (Richard Lester) and an abundance of music, joy and sly wit. It set the path for lots of great rock films to follow.
5) More movies. Lifetime has a marathon of films produced by writer Terry McMillan. That’s every two hours, from 2 p.m. to 4 a.m., with a new one (starring Taye Diggs) at 8. Also, there’s “Barbie” at 5:30 p.m. on TBS and two top double-features — “Soul Food” and “Dreamgirls” at 5 and 8 p.m. on BET, the “Inside Out” cartoons at 7:20 and 9:25 on Freeform.
