CBS plans its post-“Big Bang” life

On the day before “Big Bang” says farewell, CBS has unveiled its lineup for next season.
It will try to retain is comedy dominance on Thursdays, with “Young Sheldon” (shown here in Thursday’s season-finale) and “Mom” at 8 and 9 p.m. Those will surround two new comedies: Walton Goggins plays a recent widower in “The Unicorn”; Patricia Heaton — already with two hits in “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle” — tries for her third act with “Carol’s Second Act.” Read more…

It will try to retain is comedy dominance on Thursdays, with “Young Sheldon” (shown here in Thursday’s season-finale) and “Mom” at 8 and 9 p.m. Those will surround two new comedies: Walton Goggins plays a recent widower in “The Unicorn”; Patricia Heaton — already with two hits in “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle” — tries for her third act with “Carol’s Second Act.”

But what about Chuck Lorre, the super-producer of “Big Bang,” “Mom” and “Young Sheldon”? His new comedy — “Bob (heart) Abishola” — will be Mondays; Billy Gardell plays a Detroit chap who falls for his Nigerian-born nurse, played by Folake Olowofoyeke.

CBS kept virtually all of its dramas, but is moving some of them around — “Hawaiian Five-0” and “Magnum” form a tropical package on Fridays – and holding others to mid-season. That makes room for a new court drama (“All Rise”) and crime drama (“Evil”). The line-up:

— Mondays: “The Neighborhood,” 8 p.m.; “Bob (heart) Abishola” (new), 8:30; “All Rise” (new), 9; “Bull,” 10.

— Tuesdays: “NCIS,” 8 p.m.; “FBI,” 9; “NCIS: New Orleans,” 10.

— Wednesdays: “Survivor,” 8 p.m.; “SEAL Team,” 9; “SWAT,” 10.

— Thursdays: “Young Sheldon,” 8 p.m.; ”The Unicorn” (new), 8:30; “Mom,” 9; “Carol’s Second Act,” 9:30; “Evil,” 10.

— Fridays: “Hawaii Five-0,” 8 p.m.; Magnum, P.I.,” 9; “Blue Bloods,” 10.

— Saturdays: Reruns, 8 and 9 p.m.; “48 Hours,” 10.

— Sundays: “60 Minutes,” 7 p.m.; “God Friended Me,” 8; “NCIS: Los Angeles,” 9; “Madam Secretary,” 10.

— Mid-season returns: “MacGyver,” “Ciminal Minds,” “Man With a Plan” and reality shows “Amazing Race,” “Big Brother” and “Undercover Boss.”

— Mid-season new: Two dramas — Edie Falco in “Tommy” and Julian McMahon in the spin-off, “FBI: Most Wanted.” Also, a comedy, Jaime Camil and Pauley Perrette in “Broke
