Let’s say you want a compromise plan for this summer’s “Sharkfest.”
You’re not planning on watching the full, five-week marathon. (What, you have something better to do?) You’ll skip all the reruns – tons of them – and stick to the new shows.
Here (subject to change) are the premieres. “Sharkfest” (see separate story) starts July 19 on the National Geographic Channel, then jumps to Nat Geo Wild on Aug. 9 – the same day Discovery launches its Shark Week. Read more…

– July 20: “When Sharks Attack” opener, 9 p.m. (It continues at 9 p.m. through July 24, then July 27.) Also, “Sharks vs. Dolphins: Blood Battle,” 10 p.m.

– July 21: “Sharkcano,” 10 p.m.

– July 22: “Secrets of the Bull Shark,” 10 p.m.

– July 23: “Most Wanted Sharks,” 10 p.m.

– July 24: “50 Shades of Sharks,” 10 p.m.

– July 26: “Raging Bull Shark,” 8 p.m.

– July 27: “Sharks of the Bermuda Triangle,” 10 p.m.

– July 28: “Shark vs. Whale,” 10 p.m.

– July 29: “What the Shark?” 10 p.m.

– Aug. 2: “Shark vs. Surfer,” 8 p.m.

– Also, “enhanced” episodes, adding some new material to reruns. They include “World’s Biggest Great White? Expedition Hawaii” (10 p.m. July 26); “Mega Hammerhead: Ultimate Predator” (10 p.m. July 30); and “When Sharks Attack” (8 p.m., Aug. 5-6).
