Best-bets for May 28: Voices soar; “Succession” ends

1) “National Memorial Day Concert,” 8 p.m., PBS, rerunning at 9:30. Each year, on the eve of the holiday, this offers a passionate mixture of stories and music, done live on the Capitol lawn. 1) “National Memorial Day Concert,” 8 p.m., PBS, rerunning at 9:30. Each year, on the eve of the holiday, this offers a passionate mixture of stories and music, done live on the Capitol lawn. 2) “Succession” series-finale, 9-10:30 p.m., HBO. This is the weekend when two great shows depart – “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” ended Friday on Amazon Prime; now it’s “Succession.” Last week, their dad’s funeral put the Roys in tricky turf: Roman crumbled, Kendall took control … and Shiv cut a deal to be U.S. head of GoJo. Now nothing is definite, including the winner of the presidential election.

3) “The Blacklist,” 10 p.m, NBC. At a time when scripted shows are rare on broadcast TV – and will become more rare as the writers’ strike takes hold – here’s an exception: This smart show has nine episodes left in its final season. Tonight, the task force searches for a newlywed bride and Red helps a cartel leader, Then the show moves to Thursdays, including two new episodes June 1.

4) “Barry” series-finale, 10:30 p.m., HBO. This nimble blend of murder and comedy began with Barry (Bill Hader), a hit man, falling for the mood of an acting class and for one of its students, Sally. Now it ends with him trying to save her, after she’s been grabbed by thugs. That’s followed by the two-part season-finale of “Somebody, Somewhere,” complete with a funeral, a wedding and Sam pondering her fractured friendship with Joel.

5) ALSO: There are no cartoons tonight – NASCAR takes over Fox – but you can get laughs via ABC reruns. That’s “America’s Funniest Home Videos” as 7 and 8 p.m., with “The Conners” from 9-11. Meanwhile, CBS is starting its summertime “60 Minutes Presents,” following up or expanding previous reports. That’s at 8 p.m., followed by reruns of a “Let’s Make a Deal” special at 9 and “NCIS: Los Angeles” at 10.
