1) “Surviving Earth” season-finale, 8 p.m., NBC. This show has been an epic enigma. The good news: It brilliantly uses computer graphics to create long-ago creatures from times when the planet was changing. The bad: It has some oddly specific stories for those creatures — sort of like the real ones in “The Americas: (shown here), but fictional. Now things conclude with floods and a new ice age.
2) “The Americas,” 9 p.m., NBC. Here’s one more chance to see the superb opening hour, now with “fun facts” added. Touring the Atlantic Coast of the U.S. and Mexico, we see swooping eagles, swarming fish, glowing fireflies and more. The raccoon scenes (shown here), in particular, are a delight.
3) “The Bear,” 9-10:06 p.m., FX. Now the pace hits a dizzying peak. Overbooked and undersupplied, the restaurant races to handle diners (including two important tables) during a rainstorm. It’s frantic and involving, setting up next week’s series finale … which is already on Hulu.
4) “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” HBO Max. Last week’s season-opener was a time-bending epic with what may be the only known case of someone successfully punching a dinosaur in the face. Now comes the opposite, a darkly internal tale faced by several, including the young Lt. Cmdr. Jim Kirk.
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., ABC’s “Family Feud” has music folks, including 2 Chainz, Zac Brown and Mickey Guyton. At 9, Fox reruns a quirky “Best Medicine” that starts with a body discovered in the bog. And at 10, CBS’ “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” reruns the clever season-opener, with Jim’s retirement getting off to a rocky start.
