1) “America’s Got Talent,” 8-10 p.m., Tuesday, NBC. The show has already sent 28 acts to the live episodes, which start Aug. 18. Twelve are musical; five are acrobatic; others range from dancers to dogs. But now comes a new twist: Another 23 acts have “callbacks”; they perform now for individual judges, hoping for the final spots in the live shows. 2) “The Shards” openers, 9 and 10:11 p.m., Wednesday, FX. In “beautiful, empty houses,” Bret says, teens cavort. Bret (whom writer Bret Easton Ellis based partly on himself) is a closeted bisexual with a hot girlfriend and an obsession for the new guy (played by Homer Gere, Richard’s son). A killer looms, in a story as smart, gorgeous and hollow as its characters.
3) “The Bear” series finale, 9-10:20 p.m. Thursday, FX. Here’s the opposite of “Shards”: Its people are wary, bruised, deep and compelling. In last week’s episode, they survived a rugged night at their restaurant. Now lives change, especially for Carmy (Jeremy Allen White). He has a richly affecting scene with Syd and, later, a remarkable, five-minute monolog.
4) Football, 8 p.m. ET Thursday, NBC. Yes, it’s football time, sort of. The pros’ pre-season starts with the Panthers and Cardinals in the annual Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. Then the Hall has its ceremony at 9 a.m. PT Saturday on ESPN. Inductees will be Drew Brees, Roger Craig, Larry Fitzgerald, Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri.
5) “American Ninja Warrior,” 9-11 p.m. today, NBC. It’s a crowded week for NBC. Today (rerunning at 8 p.m. Saturday), “Ninja” has its central-region finals. Tuesday has “America’s Got Talent” (rerunning at 8 p.m. Friday) followed by Constance Wu on a new “Password” at 10. Then there’s football Thursday and baseball (Astros-Padres) at 8 p.m. ET Sunday.
6) “Once Upon a Time in Space” (9 p.m. Tuesday) and “Chasing the Moon” (9-11 p.m. Friday) finales, PBS. Two excellent space documentaries conclude. Tuesday finds success in the International Space Shuttle; Friday sees man walk the moon. The latter is a rerun, as is “Nova” (9 p.m. Wednesday), viewing the Artemis II moon mission.
7) “Ted Lasso” (Apple) and “Scrubs” (9-11 p.m., ABC), both Wednesday. Bill Lawrence’s amiable shows never quite die. “Lasso” had three great seasons (and two best-comedy Emmys), then stopped; now it’s back, three years later, with Ted coaching a women’s team. “Scrubs” was gone for 16 years, then came back; now its first four return episodes rerun.
8) “Anna Pigeon” debut, 10 p.m. Friday, USA Network. A widow with city roots and an arts degree, Anna (Tracy Spiridakos of “Chicago P.D.”) is a detective park ranger in Montana. She promptly finds life-and-death crises. Despite one cliche (a lunk-headed boss) and an absurd failure to address injuries, this is a strong story with solid, likable people.
9) “Harlan Coben’s Final Twist,” 8 p.m. Saturday, CBS. After a quick, mid-season run, this landed a prime slot for next season — 10 p.m. Mondays, starting Oct. 5. First, here’s a rerun of the series-opener, a good one involving small-town lovers Billie and Billie Jean. It includes one accomplice who was incredibly easy to manipulate online.
10) ALSO: On Saturday, Turner Classic Movies has terrific Steve McQueen films … plus, oddly, his low-budget “The Blob” (1958), at 8 p.m. PT; stick around for “Bullitt” (1968) at 9:45. And at 9 p.m. Sunday (repeating at 10:15), HBO has the season-finale of its epic “House of the Dragon”; previous episodes rerun, starting at 1:32 p.m.
