1) “American Music Awards, 8-10 p.m., CBS. Shorter than most award shows (two hours, not three), this still packs in the music. That includes Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Benson Boone, Renee Rapp, Lainey Wilson, Gloria Estefan and — getting career awards — Rod Stewart (shown here) and Janet Jackson. Jennifer Lopez is the host.
2) Concerts, AXS. The day starts with country: Trisha Yearwood, 8 a.m. ET; Old Dominion, 9; Shania Twain, 10; Dierks Bentley, noon; Toby Keith, 1 p.m.’ Zac Brown, 2:30; Willie Nelson, 3:30. Then rock: Kid Rock, 5:30; ZZ Top, 6:30; Lynyrd Skynyrd, 8:30; Tom Petty, 9:30; AC/DC, 12:15 a.m.
3) “Luther,” 7:40 a.m. to 4 p.m., BBC America. This superb series had Idris Elba as a deeply troubled cop. Now a six-episode marathon begins with the potent opening episodes, when he battled an intense genius (Ruth Wilson).
4) Reality shows. At 8 p.m., Fox’s “Lego Masters” build plastic wedding cakes and NBC’s “Yes, Chef” has the contestants gather for a family-style dinner. From 9-11 p.m., Simon Cowell and Terry Crews offer past audition highlights from “America’s Got Talent,” which starts its season Tuesday.
5) “Wild Cards,” 8 p.m., CW. In a fun episode, an amnesiac engineer leads a chase through a world of codes and conspiracies. That’s followed (in a schedule change) by a rerun of the excellent “Sherlock & Daughter” opener. New “Sherlock” episodes are Wednesdays. CW had scheduled “Family Law” reruns; now, insteadt, it has new season set for mid-July.
