1) Football, 8 p.m. ET, ABC. There’s one more game … followed by a couple football-free months. This one wraps the second year of the United Football League. The Michigan Panthers (shown here) and D.C. Defenders had 6-4 records during the regular season, then upset the division leaders in the semi-finals. Now they collide for the championship.
2) More sports. All the seasons are tangled together. It’s hockey on TNT (8 p.m. ET), with Florida at Edmonton for the fifth game of the best-of-seven series. And baseball on Fox Sports1 (4:10 p.m.) and Fox (7:15), plus the College World Series at 7 on ESPN. Also: beach volleyball at 8 on CW; soccer on TBS and Ion; and more.
3) “Elsbeth,” 8 p.m., CBS. In a fairly good rerun, Tracey Ullman plays a psychic. The son of one of her rich clients has been killed; now Elsbeth jumps into the investigation.
4) More reruns, NBC. It’s “Destination X” (romance blooms) at 8 p.m. and “Yes, Chef” (competing for ingredients to use in an elegant dinner) at 9. Also, “Saturday Night Live” at 11:29.
5) Movies. Fun films include “Police Academy” (1984), 7 p.m., Sundance; “21 Jump Street” (2012), 7:30, Comedy Central; “Goonies” (1985), 8 p.m., AMC; and “School of Rock” (2003), 9:30, CMT. Also, the richly emotional “The Notebook” (2004) is at 8 p.m. on E.
