1) “The Americas” return, 8 and 9 p.m. NBC. Next week, NBC starts filling Thursdays with big, British-American documentaries — the new “Surviving Earth” at 8 p.m. and reruns of the splendid “Americas” at 9. Filling those spots this week are “fun facts” variations of two hours: We visit the warmth of Mexico (shown here), then reach the frozen Arctic.
2) Hockey, 8 p.m. ET, ABC. It’s Game 2 of the best-of-seven Stanley Cup finals, pitting two teams that have been hot. Going into Tuesday’s opener, Carolina had won four straight, capped by a resounding, 6-1 win; Vegas had won six straight, followed by a six-day break.
3) “Welcome to Wrexham,” 9 p.m., FXX, rerunning at 10. Now we switch sports, for this documentary series about soccer. With some cleverly rhyming narration, we see Christmastime, when games are packed together and the playoffs are at stake. There are emotional portraits of a midfielder emerging from injury and a goalkeeper back from a crucial mistake.
4) “Elsbeth,” 10 p.m., CBS. In a fairly good episode, Constance Wu plays a “wealth therapist” — guiding people through the trauma of being rich. That’s in a rerun night that starts with a good “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage”: Georgie’s mom and Mandy’s moms feud, when the business needs help.
5) “The Kiss List” (2023), 8-10 p.m., Fox. After word goes around that Camille (Megan Sari) is a bad kisser, she tries to prove it wrong. It’s a teen film that drew so-so reviews … co-starring (as Camille’s mom) Parminder Nagra, who once starred in a teen gem, the 2002 “Bend It Like Beckham.”
