1) “American Ninja Warrior” season-opener, 9-11 p.m., NBC. The 18th season starts with people who are easy to root for. A teen farmgirl works out by chasing chickens … a cowboy sometimes carries his disabled wife … Kathy Zimmerman (shown here) and her family have a homemade, backyard course. Now re-designed obstacles have all of them swinging and scrambling.
2) Basketball, 8:30 p.m. ET, ABC, with pre-game at 8. After two games in San Antonio, the action moves to New York. Games will continue Wednesday and (if needed) Saturday and beyond.
3) “The 1% Club” and “The Quiz With Balls,” 8 and 9 p.m., Fox. With the World Cup starting Thursday, these shows will go a month without new episodes. Tonight, “Club” fills the arena with past contestants. “Quiz” replaces the regular balls with soccer ones; it pits set of Team USA fans against one of Team England fans.
4) “You’re Killing Me,” 8 p.m., www.acorn.tv. Rushing to finish their novel, Allie and Andi retreat to a cabin where they won’t be disturbed. Naturally, they’re disturbed, including a fairly good murder mystery.
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., a new episode of Sullivan’s Crossing finds troubles widening between the ideal couple of Maggie and Cal At the same time, NBC’s “St. Denis Medical” has two good reruns. The first involves heightened security; the second has a disruptive piece opf equipment.
