2) “Blazing Saddles” and “Young Frankenstein” (1974), 8 and 10 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies. In one amazing year, Mel Brooks directed and co-wrote two comedy classics. He turns 100 today and TCM celebrates with a marathon that also has “The Twelve Chairs,” “The Producers” and “Spaceballs,” at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 and 3 p.m.

3) “The Vampire Lestat,” 9 p.m., AMC, repeating at 10:14. This keeps leaping deftly between extremes. The opening minutes are quite funny; the closing ones bring jolts. Alongside the strutting swagger of Le4tat and the pain of Armand and Molloy, there are gently understated moments with Louis and a waitress who looks like a grown-up Claudia.

4) “Grantchester,” 9 p.m., PBS. Morose after meeting his birth mother and his half-brother, the vicar needs a diversion. He tries tidying and sex … then finds a case — complete with nasty rich folks — to consume him. It’s a strong hour, following a fairly good “Patience” that includes one always-pleasing staple — a chase through a house of mirrors.

5) MORE: At 7 p.m., the CW has “The American President” (1995), a Rob Reiner gem written by Aaron Sorkin … who went on to create “The West Wing.” At 7:32, ABC counters with “Armageddon” (1998), which many critics disliked and Roger Ebert deeply hated. Also, Fox starts the new World Cup round at 3 p.m. ET, then switches to drag-racing at 5:30.
