Fantasy feast set for November

Sometime in November, fantasy fans may find their brains reaching overload.
Entire seasons of two shows will air on Amazon Prime during a crowded, 15-day stretch. They are:
— The third season of “Lord Of the Rings: The Rings of Power” (shown here). Four episodes will arrive Nov. 11, two Nov. 18 and the final two Nov. 25.
— The first season of “Blade Runner 2099,” from producer Ridley Scott. All eight episodes will arrive Nov. 25 … which is both Thanksgiving eve and the day “Rings of Power” wraps its season.
Both shows offered details today (July 24) at Comic-Con in San Diego. There was also casting news, including Michelle Yeoh (an Oscar-winner for “Everything Everywhere All at Once”) in “Blade Runner” and Simon Pegg (the “Shaun of the Dead” star and Scotty in three “Star Trek” films) as the voice of the previously silent Balrog in “Rings of Power.”
Also at Com-Con were:
— HBO and HBO Max. They’ve already started the seasons for “House of the Dragon” and the comedy “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.” Next, on Aug. 16, is “Lanterns,” a “Green Lantern” spin-off with Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as his recruit.
— AMC, which is starting the “Walking Dead: Dead City” season at 9 p.m. Sunday (July 26). It announced that Emily Kinney — who has played Beth, Maggie’s half-sister, in other “Walking Dead” shows — will join the show this season..
And in 2027? AMC announced that the fourth season of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” will be its last. Also, “Interview With the Vampire” will again change titles. For the just-finished third season, it was “The Vampire Lestat”; for the fourth, it will be “Queen of the Damned.”
