1) “The Run For a Million,” 8-10 p.m., CBS. Two pieces of rodeo life overlap. On CW (7:30-10 p.m.), it’s NBR bull-riding. (An NBR event is shown here.) And on CBS, 16 horse-riders try elaborate courses, competing for $1 million, The latter is produced by Taylor Sheridan, who does both fiction (“Yellowstone,” “Dutton Ranch”) and non-fiction (“The Road,” “Pure Grit,” “The Last Cowboy”).
2) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. As it happens, this episode — from Dec. 6, with Dijon as music guest — is the only time Melissa McCarthy hosted “SNL” and didn’t get an Emmy nomination. She’d hosted five previous times, with one win and four other nominations.
3) “9-1-1,” 8-11 p.m., ABC. Last week, ABC reran the season’s first three episodes, including a space mission by Athene and Hen. Now come the next three hours, including aftershocks: At 8, Athena is finally coming to terms with the death of her husband Bobby. At 9, Hen has been fired for covering up a medical condition contracted during the mission.
4) Epic films. Steven Spielberg’s terrific “Raiders of the Lost Ark” trilogy is on CMT at noon (1981) and 3 (1984) and 6 p.m. (1989), with the follow-up “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (2008) at 9. Also, James Cameron’s “Avatar” (2009) and “Avatar: The Way of Water” (2022) are at 4:30 and 8 p.m. on FX.
5) ALSO: There are some more top-notch movies, ranging from the “Frozen” films (6:50 and 9:20 p.m., Freeform) to “Pulp Fiction” (8 p.m., Showtimes). Also at 8, NBC reruns Wednesday’s “America’s Got Talent” hour, sending the first bunch of performers to the semi-finals, Sept. 15.
