1) “Freddie Mercury — The Final Act,” 8-10 p.m., CW. For the second straight year, CW announced it was airing the Miss Teen USA and Miss USA pageants, then bailed out. This time, the reversal was just six days before the teen pageant. Now that reverts to the internet (8 p.m. today, apparently charging about $35); CW reruns a film that focuses on Mercury (shown here) — his death and the massive the memorial concert.
2) “Lion” finale, 9 and 9:54 p.m., National Geographic; rerunning at 11:46 and 12:40. Brilliantly filmed, this wraps a four-parter following a cub to his ascendance. Tonight begins when he’s 2 and his family is shattered. More tragedies are ahead, in a slow-but-epic film. The first part reruns at 7:10, the second at 8:05 and 10:51.
3) “Shards,” 9-10:35 p.m., FX. For these upscale teens, Homecoming is a time for glamour and sex. This time, there’s a complication: The serial killer has been getting busier.
4) “Nation’s Dumbest,” 9:02 p.m., Fox. After some rough rounds, Ice-T bounced back last week and won an exit. That leaves five people still in line for the unwanted “dumbest” title. There are the two youngest — JoJo Siwa, 23; and Chase Hudson, 24 — plus Matt Leinart, Hilaria Baldwin and Anthony Michael Hall. Now it’s time for the “science fair.”
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., ABC has the next rounds of the “Jeopardy Masters” tournament. At 9, HGTV has former child stars — Melissa Joan Hart, Brian Austin Green, etc. — competing to renovate ’90s style homes, with Jaleel White hosting. At 10, PBS’ “Resolve to Solve” finds new steps in wind-power ,.. including at New Bedford, Mass., once the center of whaling.
