1) “9/11 United We Stand: 25 Years Later,” 9-11 p.m., ABC. Two former New York sports stars, Derek Jeter and Michael Strahan, produced this view of sports and entertainment after the Sept. 11 attacks (shown here). It includes Pete Davidson (whose dad, a firefighter, died that day), Jon Bon Jovi, Jon Stewart, Matthew Broderick, Robin Roberts, Jimmy Fallon and more.
2) “America’s Got Talent,” 8-10 p.m., NBC. This quarter-finals line-up is a varied bunch. There are five singers (one who’s also a poet), two aerial acts (one that includes sword-swallowing), a comedian, a contortionist, a magician and, of course, dancing dogs. Viewers will vote and learn Wednesday which acts reach the Sept. 15 semi-finals.
3) “The Varnell Hill Show” openers, Paramount+. Back in 1993, Tommy Davidson did a couple episodes of Martin Lawrence’s show, playing a self-centered talkshow host. Now Lawrence produces this show; he also guests in these first two episodes, alongside Damon Wayans and (mixing music with comedy), Kirk Franklin, Omari, Doug E. Fresh and more.
4) Outlaws, 9-11 p.m., PBS. It’s time to rerun profiles of villains who ignited public interest. These (from 2012 and 2014) view Billy the Kid and Al Capone; next Tuesday has two hours (from 2016) on Bonnie and Clyde.
5) “NCIS,” 10 p.m., CBS. This is one of the scattered times when a “Survivor” rerun (8-10 p.m.) boots “NCIS” back two hours. There, it reruns an episode in which a reboot of the NCIS system lead to a high-stakes crisis.
