1) “The Mandalorian and Grogu,” Disney+. Summertime movies are starting to reach our TV sets now. “Michael” is on Starz, including 9:05 p.m. today; “Scary Movie” reaches Paramount+ on Thursday. And here’s the film (shown here) that led the Memorial Day weekend. Disney+ — which already has three “Mandolorian” seasons — also adds a related Lego special.
2) “The Nation’s Dumbest,” 9 p.m., Fox. The final four keep trying to elude the title of “dumbest.” Three — JoJo Siwa, 23; Chase Hudson, 24; Anthony Michael Hall, 58 — were distracted by show-business during their school years; the fourth is Hilaria Baldwin, 42. With a clever host (Jack Whitehall), the show has had fun seeing them almost escape.
3) “Shards,” 9-10:09 p.m., FX. Shaken by the Homecoming-time events (including another murder), these too-beautiful teens face intensity from police and from their Shakespeare class. A week from the finale, this remains an odd exercise — slickly filmed, but with no one to like or root for.
4) “Resolve to Solve,” 10 p.m., PBS. The second half grimly eyes a study of collapsing Antarctic glaciers. The first, however, is sunny: Kris Tompkins, a former California surfer, was CEO of the Patagonia company for 20 years. Then, with her husband, she gave millions of acres of park land to Chile. Now 76 and widowed, she re-introduces animals to the wild.
5) Sept. 11 films As the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks nears, streamers add documentaries. For Disney+ and Hulu, it’s “9/11 United We Stand — 25 Years Later,” which debuted Tuesday on ABC. And for Netflix, it’s “Turning Point: Generation 9/11.” It ranges from people orphaned that day to journalists, young Afghans and U.S. Marines.
6) MORE: At 8 p.m., NBC has the “America’s Got Talent” results, sending a third set of acts to the semi-finals Sept. 15. Also at 8, “MasterChef” has chefs trying to keep up with Gordon Ramsay and Tiffany Derry. And at 10 ET, Turner Classic Movies has the baseball favorite, “Bull Durham: (1988).
