Quick changes: Music reruns, new “SNL”

Right now, networks are scrambling to fill their virus voids.
Changes are made quickly — sometimes too quickly for viewers toi catch up. This weekend:
Saturday (April 25), 8-10 p.m.: CBS reruns “Let’s Go Crazy” (shown here), its Grammy tribute to Prince. Taped before the virus shutdowns, that was packed with stars, from Alicia Keys, Beck and John Legend to the Foo Fighters and Earth, Wind & Fire. Read more…

Right now, networks are scrambling to fill their virus voids.

Changes are made quickly — sometimes too quickly for viewers toi catch up. This weekend:

— Saturday (April 25), 8-10 p.m.: CBS reruns “Let’s Go Crazy” (shown here), its Grammy tribute to Prince. Taped before the virus shutdowns, that was packed with stars, from Alicia Keys, Beck and John Legend to the Foo Fighters and Earth, Wind & Fire.

— Saturday, 11:29 p.m., NBC: “Saturday Night Live” has its second comedy-from-home edition. The first, two weeks ago, was a big ratings success; still, NBC didn’t announce the new one until late in the week.

— Sunday, 7 p.m., ABC.  “The Disney Family Singalong” reruns. This has been the slickest of the six primetime specials featuring music from home. Using computer wizardry, for instance, viewers saw Donny Osmond singing with his scattered grandchildren; they also saw a virtual reunion of “High School Musical” and “Descendants” actors.
