Best-bets for May 13: Joan, Pati and lots of drama

1) “Joan Rivers: A Dead Funny All-Star Tribute,” 10 p.m., NBC. Rivers (shown here) carefully catalogued 70,000 jokes on note cards. There were four on Hitler, 34 on Nixon, 866 on Elizabeth Taylor. There were also 218 on death. Now, 11 years after her death at 81, people read from those cards; some (especially Nikki Glaser) add clever bits of their own. Read more…

2) “Alert: Missing Persons Unit,” 9 p.m., Fox. Just as the new boss takes over, the team has its best case yet. It starts with a missing customs broker, then has great twists (plus a few forgivable lapses in logic). That follows a “Cleaning Lady” in which Thony learns a dangerous secret and takes a risk.

3) “Pati Jinich Explores PanAmericana” season-finale, 9 p.m., PBS. The first leg of this journey, south on the Pan-American Highway, ends in Alberta. Sometimes compared to the old West (lots of empty spaces and buffalo), it’s also a place for fresh starts. Almost one-fourth of the people were born in another country. Jinich visits, and dines with, some of them.

4) Season-finales, ABC. At 8 p.m., “Will Trent” battles a biological attack in Atlanta. At 9, “The “Rookie” has a search for Oscar, the long-time prisoner who escaped last season. And at 10, “Bad Romance” has the case of a bride-to-be and her mother, killed weeks before the wedding.

5) ALSO: NBC’s “The Voice” recaps Monday’s performances at 8, then continues the semi-finals at 9; the finals are next Monday and Tuesday. All three of CBS’ FBI shows wrap their seasons next week; only one (“FBI”) will be back next season. For “FBI: International,” at 9, this starts a two-part finale; tonight, the team links with Tokyo police.
