While some networks plan a summer snooze, the FX people will offer some counterpoint.
They’ll have major shows in June (“The Bear”), August (“Alien: Earth,” shown here) and September (Ethan Hawke in “The Lowdown”).
All three are produced by FX; two will be on FX and Hulu, with “The Bear” only on Hulu. Details are:
— June 25: The entire fourth season of “The Bear” arrives in a 10-episode bulk on Hulu. Set in an intense Chicago restaurant, the show’s first two seasons grabbed Emmy attention. (The third is up for Emmys in September.) Both seasons were nominated for best comedy series (winning once), best actor in a comedy (Jeremy Allen White, winning both times) and more.
— Aug. 12: Noah Hawley is known to FX viewers for writing and producing several acclaimed “Fargo” mini-series. Now he jumps to the future. “Alien: Earth” — an extension of the “Alien” movies — begins with a mysterious ship crashing on our planet.
— Sept. 23: Sterlin Harjo was co-creator and producer of the Emmy-nominated “Reservation Dogs.” His new show — again set in his native Oklahoma — is an eight-episode “Tulsa noir” series. Hawke (who did a “Reservation Dogs” episode as a character’s biologic father) plays a “truthstorian,” who lives in an old bookstore and probes secrets from Tulsa’s power structure.
