1) “Ocean,” 9-10:54 p.m., National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild. Two potent forces — David Attenborough (shown here), 99, and National Geographic, 137 — combine for the first time. They bring spectacular footage and a passionate message: Oceans, Attenborough says, offer “life at its most mesmerizing.”
2) More on oceans. On one channel, the seas are scary: AMC has “Jaws” (1975) and its sequel (1978) at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m., repeating them at 7 and 10. On another, they’re inviting: James Cameron’s “OceanXplorers” reruns from 3:42 to 9 p.m. on National Geographic.
3) “The Conners,” 8-11 p.m., ABC. This started as a great show (“Roseanne”) and remained a pretty good one. Now ABC reruns the final six episodes. Dan sues a drug company over Roseanne’s death, Jackie tries to rejoin the police force and Darlene tries to improve her marriage. Then there’s a warm farewell from characters we’ve loved knowing.
4) Steve Guttenberg films. Here are some wild extremes. In the first two “Police Academy” films (5 and 7:15 p.m., IFC), Guttenberg is a boyish troublemaker, suddenly turned cadet cop. In the “Little Mermaid” reboot (8:15, Freeform), he’s the voice of King Jasper. In”Kidnapped by a Killer” (debuting at 8 on Lifetime), he plays a real-life serial killer.
5) ALSO: NBC reruns the season-opener of “American Ninja Warrior,” from 9-11 p.m.; that follows a “Destination X” rerun at 8. Others obsess on sports: At 7:35 p.m., Fox has baseball; at 8, CW has beach volleyball and CBS has WNBA basketball, with Indiana at Chicago.
