1) Elsbeth,” 10 p.m.. CBS. Tony Hale, a familiar chump on “Arrested Deveolpment and (with two Emmys) “Veep,” plays a tech billionaire who frets about an uprising of the masses. He builds a home bunker … then finds nasty uses. Elsbeth (shown here with her police colleagues) probes the case, in a fairly good episode that also sees her deal with the widow of her nemesis, Judge Crawford.
2) “9-1-1” and “9-1-1: Nashville,” 8 and 9 p.m., ABC. It’s time for the “mid-season finales” of ABC’s fall shows. They’ll be back on Jan. 8; in the meantime, we can catch up: Next week, ABC reruns the first three episodes of “9-1-1: Nashville.”
3) “Grey’s Anatomy,” 10 p.m., ABC. Here’s another show that is wrapping up now, returning Jan. 8. Tonight, there’s a catastrophic bus accident. Also, Richard tests Bailey’s patience. And Teddy and Owen, now estranged, have an awkward encounter.
4) “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” 9 p.m., NBC. A famous writer has his own account of a crime; now police must separate fact from fiction. That follows a “Law & Order” rerun, focusing on the murder of a sports star.”
5) “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” 9 p.m., Fox. A week before the finale, people mountain-climb with heavy loads, then try an extraction. Remaining are Kody Brown of “Sister Wives”;podcasters Gia Giudice and Brianna LaPaglia; and three athletes, football’s Randall Cobb and Andrew East and the latter’s wife, gymnast Shawn Johnson East.
