1) “Big Brother” season-opener, 8-9:30 p.m. Thursday, CBS. The 28th season begins, this time in a house with a “time trip” theme (shown here). That ranges from a crazy-clock entry to design elements that span the centuries. There’s another 90-minute episode at 8 p.m. Sunday, then a weekly pattern — 8-9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 8-9 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays.
2) “Celebrity Family Feud” and “Press Your Luck” openers, 8-10 p.m. Thursday, ABC. In the midst of soccer and baseball season, “Feud” has football players. It will be AFC champs vs. NFC champs, with Steve Harvey hosting. Then Elizabeth Banks hosts “Luck,” as ABC sets its summer; next Monday, it debuts “Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro.”
3) “Sharkfest,” National Geographic Channel. Sharks fill up the channel, 21 hours a day (9 a.m. to 6 a.m.). The new hours are from 9-11 p.m., through Saturday; then Sunday has two terrific reruns: At 4 p.m., Bertie Gregory looks for hammerheads in Mexico; from 9-11 p.m. is last year’s 50th-anniversary film about the making of “Jaws.”
4) World Cup, 8 p.m. ET today, Fox. Fresh from a 2-0 win, the U.S. faces Belgium, in Seattle — with the top U.S. scorer (Folarin Balogun) out with a red-card suspension. That’s in the round-of-16, with more games at 3 p.m. today and noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday. They sets up the quarter-finals, at 4 p.m. Thursday; 3 p.m. Friday; and 5 and 9 p.m. Saturday.
5) “Moana” (2016), 8:32 p.m. today, ABC. Four days before its reboot reaches theaters, here’s a chance to savor this animated gem, about a girl’s dangerous ocean voyage to save her village. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson co-stars in both versions. This one also airs on Freeform at 6:35 p.m. Friday — on opening night of the new (non-cartoon) version.
6) “The American Southwest,” 10 p.m. Wednesday, PBS. The Colorado River flows for 1,450 miles, from the Rocky Mountains to Mexico. It carved the Grand Canyon and is partly diverted to California farms. This portrait juggles gorgeous vistas, clumsy narration, strong ecological comments and views of critters, from beavers to snakes and salmon flies.
7) “Little House on the Prairie” reboot, Thursday, Netflix. For nine seasons and 204 episodes, this show fascinated viewers, portraying family life in the frontier. Now a reboot begins, with just nine episodes. While others use the safety of a wagon train, the Ingalls family goes alone. Beautifully filmed,
the first hour has strong characters and quick crises.
8) “Project Runway” opener, 9:30-11 p.m. Thursday, Freeform. The 22nd season starts on an overcrowded night. Thursday also has “Big Brother,” the ABC games, “Little House” and more. “The Bear” (9 p.m., FX) has a quietly emotional episode and Peacock has the nine-part “Five Star Weekend”: Amid grief, Hollis (Jennifer Garner) plans a party for friends.
9) “Big Brother: Unlocked” season-opener, 8-9 p.m. Friday, CBS. In its second season, this bi-weekly show adds a studio audience and actor Jerry O”Connell, a “Big Brother” fan. He joins past winners Taylor Hale and Derrick Levasseur, in a show offering backstage views. Also Friday: PBS (9-11 p.m.) reruns the first half of its John Kennedy profile.
10) “The 1% Club” and “Animal Control,” 7 and 8:30 p.m., Sunday, Fox. Joel McHale gives Fox some extra fun in both shows — hosting a clever game and starring in a situation-comedy that has some great moments. Here are reruns of “Club” (which will resume new episodes the next night) and “Control,” with Rob Gronkowski in a funny opening bit.
