1) World Cup, 8 p.m. ET, Fox. Off to a strong start, the U.S. faces Belgium, in Seattle. The Americans (shown here in a previous game) have won all three games that counted, outscoring their opponents, 8-1. (After cinching a spot, they rested their starters and lost a game,.3-2.) Belgium has had 0-0 and 1-1 ties, plus 3-2 and 5-1 wins. Tonight, one will be eliminated.
2) “Moana” (2016), 8:32 p.m., ABC. Four days before its reboot reaches theaters, here’s a chance to savor this animated gem, about a girl’s dangerous ocean voyage to save her village. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson co-stars in both versions. This one also airs on Freeform at 6:35 p.m. Friday — on opening night of the new (non-cartoon) version.
3) More animation. Disney competes with itself tonight, with two excellent cartoons overlapping with “Moana.” It will be “WALL-E” (2008) at 7 p.m. on the Disney Channel and “Encanto” (2023) at 8:30 on Freeform.
4) “World War II,” 8-10 p.m., History Channel. It’s time for D-Day, sending Allied troops to five invasion spots in France. That’s in the first hour, with the second viewing fierce battles with the Japanese in Asia. These are the 13th and 14th parts of a 20-hour series, narrated by Tom Hanks. The most-recent hours rerun from 2-8 p.m.
5) ALSO: Last week’s “Harry Wild” left us with an unsolved mystery … and with Harry’s son temporarily out of work. Now (www.acorn.tv) he gives us some quirky distractions from a so-so whisky-mogul mystery. Also, “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins” (8:30 p.m., NBC) has a funny episode, with the filmmaker (Daniel Radcliffe) learning more about the disgraced former football star.
