1) “American Ninja Warrior” (shown here in a previous episode), 9-11 p.m., NBC. It’s time for the central region finals, sending people to the national round. That reruns Saturday, part of a big week for NBC: “America’s Got Talent” (8 p.m. Tuesday, rerunning Friday) starts its callbacks. Then there’s the start of the pro football pre-season Thursday and baseball Sunday.
2) “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” 8:30 p.m., NBC. In a neatly offbeat rerun, one of Reggie’s most prime possessions is missing. The search for a culprit takes us into the filmmaker’s footage and a surprise.
3) “The Chelsea Detective” season-opener, www.acorn.tv. On the day after PBS’ “Grantchester” ended its 11-year run, Acorn fills the gap with another smart British mystery. For the next four Mondays, we’ll get movie-length tales. Next week’s is so-so, but the others are sharp, starting with this one — the upscale murder of a butler bearing secrets.
4) “The Gas Station Attendant,” 10 p.m., PBS. Karla Murthy grew up in a big family near Houston, graduated from Oberlin and started a film career in New York. Here, she focuses on her dad, who was homeless in India, was an engineer at Boeing (before lay-offs), then pieced together endless jobs. It’s a moving view of a middle ground in the immigrant experience.
5) ALSO: At 8 p.m., reruns — CBS’ “Neighborhood,” NBC’s “St. Denis Medical,” Fox’s “1 % Club season-opener — face two new episodes: On CW’s “All American,” a dinner party boils with secrets and surprises. On ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro,” it’s time to tango and rumba.
