The Wednesday-night Canadian connection will continue this summer.
The CW network will air the fourth season of “Family Law” (shown here) at 8 p.m. Wednesdays, starting July 23. That comes a week after the season-finale of “Sullivan’s Crossing” … which took the timeslot after “Wild Cards.”
All three are from Canadian networks, a steady source of middle-of-the-road shows on CW.
For now, there are reruns of “Wild Cards” on Mondays and new episodes of “Sullivan’s Crossing” and the British “Sherlock & Daughter” on Wednesdays. CW had planned “Family Law” reruns for Monday, but now switches to rerunning the early “Sherlock” episodes/
“Family Law” began with Abigail (Jewel Staite) trashing her career due to alcoholism. The only law firm that would hire her (reluctantly) was run by her father (Victor Garber).
As the new season begins, things are crumbling again. Her boyfriend has his own drinking problem … her father has passed her over for partnership … and her daughter has written a devastating essay about the alcoholism.
In between that, there are legal cases, light and heavy, to debate.
