1) “Raid the Cage” season-opener, 9 p.m., CBS. As the summer begins, CBS’ plans are surprisingly modest. There are occasional specials (including the Tonys, June 8), lots of reruns, plus this show, starting its second season. Damon Wayans Jr. hosts with Jeannie Mai. Contestants answer questions to get extra time; then try to grab prizes (shown here) before a gate closes.
2) “The Equalizer,” 10 p.m., CBS. It wasn’t easy to find “The Equalizer” this year. The show was moved to 10 p.m. Sundays, where it was often delayed or displaced. It won’t be back in the fall, so let’s catch reruns now. Tonight, there’s the murder of a professor who was searcing for gold.
3) “Sullivan’s Crossing,” 8 p.m., CW. Just as the Maggie/Cal romance finally emerged, he got a call that his father is ill. Now they go to see him, while her father tries to learn more about a competing development. That’s followed by “Sherlock & Daughter,” with Holmes reluctantly setting up a meeting for his eternal enemy Moriarty.
4) “Bugs That Rule the World” conclusion, 10 p.m., PBS. Wrapping up a four-part series, this focuses on beetles –the most abundant, diverse and (some say) important species in the universe. That follows reruns looking at horses (8 p.m.) and the quantum universe (9).
5) MORE: Two playoffs have game-5 (if needed) in best-of-seven series. At 8 p.m. ET, it’s hockey (Florida-Carolina) on TNT; at 8:30, it’s basketball (Minnesota-Oklahoma City) on ESPN. Also, “Hollywood Squares” reruns move into the 8 p.m. slot on CBS, facing new hours of Fox’s “MasterChef” and ABC’s “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.”
