1) “Resident Alien” season-opener, 11 p.m., USA and Syfy. One of TV’s best shows finally returns. Last season ended 14 months ago, as aliens schemed to steal a baby and destroy Earth. (Those hours repeat at 12:02 and 1:03 a.m. on USA.) Now Harry, an alien himself, is helpless while a rude shapeshifter (shown here) takes his place. Alan Tudyk is great (as usual) in a double role.
2) Hockey, 8 p.m. ET, TNT. It’s been 32 years since the Stanley Cup returned to Canada, where some people feel it belongs. Montreal won in 1993, the 51st time a Canadian team had won; since then, eight have lost in the finals. Last year, Edmonton came close, losing to Florida in seven games. Now those two collide again; tonight has game two, in Edmonton.
3) “An Evening With Dua Lipa,” 9-10:30 p.m., CBS. The Royal Albert Hall has 153 years of elegant memories, but a 29-year-old star took control. In this rerun, Lipa talks a little about her life and does a duet with Elton John. Mostly, she sings beautifully, backed by an orchestra and chorus.
4) “Soaring to Life,” 8 p.m., NBC. Just as ABC keeps plugging for Disney movies, NBC does the same for ones from Universal. This looks at the non-cartoon remake of “How to Train Your Dragon,” which reaches theaters on June 13. At 8:30 is a sorta-OK “Happy’s Place” rerun, with a “ladies night” to comfort the brooding Gabby.
5) “Predator: Killer of Killers,” Hulu. The “Predator” franchise has had five movies, with a sixth coming this year. But here’s a detour: Unlike the others, this is animated and goes straight to Hulu. Facing the ultimate killer are a ninja, a World War II pilot and a Viking warrior with her young son.
