Best-bets for June 28: a Looney, sporty night

1) Cartoons, cable. There are lots of them — even on HBO. It has “The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie” (2024), shown here, at 8. The Disney Channel has “Encanto” (2021) at 6:15 and “Phineas and Ferb” episodes, new (10 p.m.) and old (5:25, 5:50, 10:30). 2) Baseball buffs. “Field of Dreams” (1989), the brilliant tribute to a classic game, is at 6 p.m. ET on Turner Classic Movies. Or you can watch real games, at 4:05 p.m. on Fox Sports1 and 7:15 on Fox.

3) More sports. The basketball and hockey playoffs have finally ended, so fans must look elsewhere. Maybe the start of a five-week NASCAR series, at 7 p.m. ET on TNT … Or Gold Cup soccer (7:15 and 10:15 p.m., Fox Sports1) … Or skateboarders and such at the X Games (9 p.m., ESPN2) … Or maybe just go outside and play.

4) “Matlock,” 8 and 9 p.m., CBS. Both reruns focus on Olympia, locked in a fight with her ex-husband for partnership in the firm. First, she takes on as complicated murder case. Then she has a divorce case in which her client’s husband is in a family that does lots of business with the firm.

5) “Saturday Night Live,” 11:29 p.m., NBC. Quinta Brunson had her second turn as host, with Benson Boone as music guest. That follows other NBC reruns — “Destination X” at 8 p.m. (Peter Weber of “The Bachelor” and JaNa Craig of “Love Island” join) and “Yes, Chef” at 9, two days before its finale.
