2) “Kevin Can F— Himself” season-opener, 9 p.m. today, AMC. This bounces between a noisy sitcom (with audience laughter) and a dark drama. Now it’s mostly dark; having failed to kill her bombastic husband, Allison (Annie Murphy) tries to sabotage his political campaign. Also, she keeps her friend’s brother – who overheard everything – hostage. Murphy is terrific; the rest is innovative, but iffy.

3) “American Ninja Warrior” (NBC) or “The Bachelorette” (ABC), 8-10 p.m. Two of the key summer shows are getting fairly close to choosing winners. For “Ninja,” this is the middle of a three-week “finals” in Las Vegas, with a couple more weeks following that.

4) “Bob (Hearts) Abishola,” 8:30 p.m., CBS. In an episode that’s OK (but not up to the show’s usual high standards), Abishola is nudged into a day of luxury with Dottie and Christina. Also, Goodwin worries when Kofo gets a pitch meeting with Bob.

5) “Running Wild” season-finale, 9 and 10 p.m., National Geographic. Two macho guys face challenging worlds. First is Anthony Anderson in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Then Rob Riggle, who often points to his military years, may try the Great Basin Desert.
