1) Cartoons. This summer, Fox has bumped its animation to Thursdays. That leaves a void, which can be filled today by trying “Phineas and Ferb” (shown here, see No. 2) or catching a marathon on Freeform: The gorgeous “Frozen” films are at 12:45 (2013) and 3:15 p.m. (2019), with “Ratatouille” (2007) at 5:25, “Elemental” (2023) at 8:05 and “Up” (2009) at 10:15.
2) “Phineas and Ferb: The Movie” (2011), 8 p.m., Disney Channel. Here’s another cartoon alternative, one with a stop-and-go history. The “Phineas” series ran for four seasons, ending in 2012. But now its fifth season will debut Thursday — some 13 years later. To get us ready, here’s its movie, followed (9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.) by reruns of episodes.
3) “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” 9 p.m., AMC, rerunning at 10:11. A handful of New Babylon raiders don’t seem to have much of a chance in gang-ridden Manhattan. One confrontation ends spectacularly. And the Croat (played with eerie perfection by Zeljko Ivanetk has two huge moments, one on purpose and one by fiery accident.
4) “The Chi,” 9 p.m., Showtime. In last week’s episode (rerunning at 8:10), Jake inadvertently revealed his affair with Tatiana, igniting a scandal. Tonight, Jemma talks to him about her career move. Also, his friendship with Bakari suffers a blow.
5) MORE: Sliding to 9 p.m. (after two hours of “60 Minutes”), CBS’ “Tracker” thrusts Colter into a Mob war. Also, movies include Spike Lee’s acclaimed “Do the Right Thing” (1989), 8 p.m. ET, Turner Classic Movies; and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” (2023) — an entertaining adventure that never got the attention it deserves — at 8 on FX.
