2) “Resident Alien,” 11 p.m. Friday, USA and Syfy. One of TV’s best shows is finally back. Last season ended 14 months ago, with aliens (including a shape-shifter) scheming to steal a baby and destroy Earth. (Those hours repeat at 12:02 and 1:03 a.m. on USA.) Now a rude impostor poses as Harry. Alan Tudyk is great as usual, this time in a double role.

3) “The Quiz With Balls” season-opener, 9 p.m. today, Fox. Like “Family Feud,” this takes a clever game, then adds lots of less-clever hype and noise. This opener is noisier than usual, pitting families from New Jersey and New York. The questions are wildly uneven and the show sometimes fails to show which answers were right, Still, Jay Pharoah makes sure it’s fun.

4) “American Ninja Warrior” season-opener, 8-10 p.m. today, NBC. This show and “America’s Got Talent” (8-10 p.m. Tuesdays) push NBC to the top each summer. In its first 16 seasons, “Ninja” has seen someone reach the $1-million top prize four times. Two of those were in the last two seasons, with back-to-back wins by Vance Walker, at ages 18 and 19.

5) “The Cleaning Lady” finale, 8-10 p.m. Tuesday, Fox. Thony, a good-hearted doctor and mom. was in full cartel-queen mode last week. Waving a gun, she extracting the money owed to Jorge; then she was arrested on shaky murder charges. That puts her in prison with Ramona, Jorge’s raging sister. There’s a violent showdown and an escape attempt.

6) “Next Gen NYC” debut, 9 p.m. Tuesday, Bravo. Imagine growing up while your mom is shouting at people on TV. What’s next? Obviously, a show of your own. This follows reality-star offspring as they start new lives in New York. It arrives at the same tie as MTV’s “Caught in the Act: Double Life,” which views real stories of people with secret lives.

7) “Sullivan’s Crossing,” 8 p.m. Wednesday, CW. Maggie’s loved ones are deeply troubled now. Her boyfriend Cal (Chad Michael Murray) has torn feelings about his dad. Her father Sully (Scott Patterson) worries about the future of his resort and of Rob’s burned-out diner. That leads into the year’s second-to-last episode of “Sherlock & Daughter.”

8) Basketball opener, 8:30 p.m. ET Thursday, ABC. TV is obsessing on sports now. The NBA starts its finals Thursday and continues Sunday, plus June 11, 13 and (if needed) 16, 19 and 22. Sundays are at 8; the others at 8:30, with pre-game at 8. That competes with the hockey finals, baseball (7 p.m. Saturdays, Fox), United Football League, racing and more.

9) “Ocean,” 9-10:54 p.m. Saturday, National Geographic. Two potent forces — David Attenborough, 99, and National Geographic, 137 — link for the first time, with stunning footage and a passionate message. Oceans, Attenborough says, offer “life at its most mesmerizing.” This film (reaching Disney+ and Hulu the next day) is preceded by “OceanXplorers” reruns.

10) STREAMING: “Stick” open Wednesday on Apple TV+, with Luke Wilson as a former pro golfer who has lost his money, marriage and status. His comeback chance involves coaching a teen hot-shot. That’s followed Thursday by season-openers of Netflix series focusing on men (“Tires”) and women (“Ginny & Georgia”). Hulu’s “Predator” returns Friday.
