1) “The Neighborhood” and “DMV” series finales, 8 and 8:30 p.m. today, CBS. This fall, CBS will trim from four comedies to two. “Neighborhood” has always known that this season (its eighth) would be its last, so it planned to go out with the weddings of the brothers, Malcolm and Marty. Then the clever “DMV” (shown here in its first episode) wraps its only season with some power shifts.
2) “Dutton Ranch” debut, Friday, Paramount+. This opens with all the splendor of the departed “Yellowstone” — grand vistas along the Montana mountains. Then it changes, amid spectacular action. Reviews of this series are embargoed, so we’ll just say the basics: There’s a cinematic feel and crisp blue-collar dialog, as Beth and Rip remake their world.
3) “American Idol” season-finale, 8-11 p.m. today, ABC. The night will be stuffed with performers. They include Alicia Keys, Nelly, Tori Kelly, Brad Paisley, Jason Mraz, Motley Crue, Gin Blossoms, the three judges and former runner-up Clay Aiken. And someone — Keyla Richardson, Hannah Harper or Jordan McCullough — will become the 24th champion,
4) “NCIS: Sydney” season-finale, 9 and 10 p.m. Tuesday, CBS. It’s time for a confrontation with the conspiracy group known as The Collective. For Mackey, who heads the American half of this U.S.-Aussie group, that goes back to her failed mission in Afghanistan. Now an FBI agent has been killed in Fiji and a deadly battle looms.
5) “The Mystery of Richard Simmons,” 9 p.m. Tuesday, ABC. After losing 123 pounds, Simmons had a whirlwind life of TV shows, work-out videos, a fitness gym and more. Then he virtually vanished for a decade. On his 76th birthday, he talked of a comeback, but died the next day. Now his siblings have given Diane Sawyer an in-depth look at his home and life.
6) “Chicago P.D.” season-finale, 10 p.m. Wednesday, NBC. The season began by adding a potent character: Arienne Mandi is an American actress who has Chilean and Iranian roots and speaks four languages. She plays Eva Imani, who worked for a private military company, speaks Farsi and was fiercely convincing doing undercover. Now she confronts her past.
7) “Fear Factor: 48 Hours of Fear” opener, 9 p.m. Thursday, Fox. So the first two versions of “Fear Factor” weren’t creepy enough? This quick, two-week edition adds an element — 48 hours without sleep. Contestants, ages 25 to 46, are a yacht captain, a firefighter captain, a lawyer, a dental hygienist and people who work in marketing and health care.
8) “Top Hat,” 9 p.m. Friday, PBS. Starting with a silly plot, this adds layers of superb song and dance. At the core is a 1935 movie, with extra Irving Berlin songs added. Director Kathleen Marshall, a Tony-winner, has gifted stars Phillip Attmore and Amara Okereku doing “Cheek to Cheek,” “Puttin’ on the Ritz,” “Let’s Face the Music and Dance” and more.
9) “Saturday Night Live” season-finale, 11:29 p.m., Saturday, NBC. The 51st season ends with two familiar stars. Will Ferrell was a regular for seven seasons, before leaving to make movies. Now he has his sixth turn as host and Paul McCartney has his sixth as music guest. Both men have also popped into “SNL” specials, including the 50th-anniversary one.
10) More finales. “Outlander” has spread eight seasons over 12 years; it ends at 8 p.m. Friday on Starz. Others merely have season-finales, including: Tuesday, CBS’ “NCIS,” 8 p.m.; Wednesday, NBC’s “Chicago Med” and “Fire” (8 and 9), CBS’ “America’s Culinary Cup,” 9:30; Thursday, NBC’s “Law & Order” and “SVU,” 8 and 9; Sunday, “Fox’s “Family Guy,” 8.
